Why is the assessment being done?<\/strong><\/h4><\/div>

We are carrying out a retrofit assessment to understand how your home could be improved to make it warmer, more energy-efficient and more comfortable. This is part of a government-backed scheme to improve homes and help reduce energy bills in the future.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t

Who will be coming to my home and are they safe?<\/strong><\/h4><\/div>

A qualified Retrofit Assessor will visit your home. They are fully security checked and trained to work in homes like yours. You\u2019ll be informed of their name and provided with photo ID details before they enter your property. All staff follow strict health and safety and safeguarding procedures.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t

How long will the visit take?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4><\/div>

The assessment usually takes 1 to 2 hours depending on the size of the property. The assessor will inform you if more time is needed.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t

What will they do during the assessment?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4><\/div>

– the assessor will:
– take room measurements, including walls, windows and doors
– ask about how you use heating and hot water
– take photos of the property (not of you, or other people or personal items)
– check insulation and ventilation levels

They will not move belongings or look in cupboards without your permission.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Please ensure all rooms, including the loft if accessible, are available for inspection.\u00a0<\/strong><\/mark>You don\u2019t need to move anything or unplug appliances. If help is needed, we can arrange support.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No. This visit is just to assess your home. If any upgrades are agreed afterwards, we\u2019ll schedule a separate visit and fully explain the process.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Usually, you can stay in your home. If any work would be too disruptive or raise safety concerns, we\u2019ll work with you and your support team to make suitable arrangements.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No. The assessment and any approved improvement works are fully funded. There will be no cost to you.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No, the assessment does not involve switching anything off. Your heating, hot water and electricity will remain on as normal throughout the visit.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Yes, to complete an accurate assessment, the assessor needs access to all rooms, including lofts, utility areas, cellars and sometimes meter cupboards. They will always ask for your permission before entering each space.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No. The assessment is non-invasive and will not interfere with any medical or electrical equipment. Please inform us in advance so we can be especially careful around sensitive areas.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Pets are not a problem, but please let us know in advance so the assessor can take any necessary precautions. If your pet is nervous with visitors, you may wish to keep them in a separate room during the visit.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
